Ground the Venue was the very first venue we looked at when we started our search and we should have known to look no further. We fell in love with the atmosphere, the energy of each and every staff member and obviously the BEAUTY of it. The mountains in the backdrop, the vineyard, the Pecan trees. The photographic opportunities are endless for your special day. It has a wonderful feel of ‘less is more’. We had our service in The White Chapel, enjoyed Cocktails and Canapés on the lawn and our Reception was in the Shed. Our guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had – and they remember food! The drinks were always flowing and the dance floor was always full. The staff was amazing, they are prompt, knowledgeable and beyond helpful. We loved every second of every minute on our special day and would redo it in a heartbeat alongside the Ground Team. Nicci Campbell was our co-ordinator, she dealt with all the decor and suppliers leading up to and on the big day. She is beyond magical at what she does, we loved working with her as she helped create our vision of our dream day become a reality.

Welcoming! Gorgeous! At home! All these feels come rushing in when you step foot onto the most magnificently, manicured grounds of Ground. From our first encounter to our very last planning mail, the team at Ground were nothing short of phenomenal! All it took was one viewing and we were absolutely in love! Our wedding process was so easy, so enjoyable and most of all open communication and honesty! Our food tasting was extremely personalised and exclusive and the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Our day ran like clock work from the time we arrived to the time we left. The Ground Staff were on top form! We even had our own private waitress which made us feel like like the Ultimate Royals! Nicci and her team took our vision and created what we had dreamed of and more. When we walked through Ground to see what had been done for us our breaths were completely taken away and it took us a while to take in all the picture-perfect decor and styling.I think we might still be floating on Cloud 9! We would do it all over again, not to change anything but to experience ALL the feels once again! Where to start… No ask was too big or too far fetched for Nicci and her team of professionals. From the very first point of contact they were punctual and to the point. They took full control and ensured that everything run according to plan. Everything from the food to the décor was more than what we could ask for and the fact that they made the venue look like a million dollars despite having to work with a strict budget was mind boggling. Ground will always hold a special place in our hearts… It’s hard to keep a review for this venue short and sweet because it’s truly an experience from start to finish. Most couples go on a tedious wedding venue hunt and end up going to and fro with which one to choose….The minute we got out the car on that Sunday morning, we knew this was our venue (yes, we only looked at one venue!). From the meticulously manicured flower gardens, to the stunning vineyard, the African bushveld in the background and the multiple areas to choose from for not only the ceremony but also the reception…we were in love and really in shock that finding a perfect venue was this easy. I then met Nicci (wedding planner/organiser/life saver/decor guru extraordinaire) and Erin (catering co-ordinator/organiser). The staff that are at your disposal for your special day are second to none. I got the opportunity to enjoy the build up to the wedding and honestly didn’t worry about a single detail. I knew it was all taken care of and on the day, everything turned out way beyond our expectations. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. There was not a single detail that was overlooked. The decor was impeccable, the food was the most delicious food that we have ever had and the gin…well the custom gin bar was the biggest hit with our guests. I am still getting messages and phone calls asking me either where I got married and who did the decor or that our food was incredible. Lastly the accomodation was exceptional. There is more than enough space for a large wedding party and family members to stay over. The several houses and rooms were clean and absolutely stunning.
